FAQ:
Does the BIB present any health risks? What about the plasticizers?
Doubts referring to harmful substances are unfounded. The plastics used for the fabrication of the wineskins are free of phenols and plasticizers. The above-mentioned wineskin of our BiB packaging is made of polyethylene (PE) that does not contain any plasticizers.
Polyethylene should not be mixed up with PET which is mostly used for the production of bottles and in most cases contains plasticizers. PET's origin is in Polyester and while PE is part of the polyolefin group, both are completely different materials. Our wineskins even fulfill the strength criteria of "suitable for babies". That's important, not only for juices!
How long can wine be stored in a Bag-in-Box?
Despite the fact that wine in the Bag-in-Box has relatively long durability, it is not made to store it for a long time. This is the reason why we offer wines which have a good drinking maturity.
Our oil and our juices, of course, have the best before date on them. Storage in a cool room is preferable and recommendable.
Wine in a Bag-in-Box is made to consume and not to collect!
Why is the Bag-in-Box compared to a bottle more Ecol-friendly?
Bag-in-Box has a better CO? balance than glass bottles: On one hand, the Bag-in-Box saves a lot of weight (40% less than bottles) and on the other hand because of their cubical form they need less space (40%), too. Both aspects generate less CO? emission during transport. Similar to glass, the box and the wineskin 100% recyclable. That's a very clean thing!
Why is wine in the Bag-in-Box so cheap?
One-way-bottles (especially with natural cork) are more expensive than Bag-in-Box. This means that we can offer the same wine in the Bag-in-Box much cheaper than in a bottle. That generates a very good price-benefit ratio for the consumer. At a given price it means there is more for the content.
